Two Triad real estate veterans, Ralph Jones and Drew Showfety, have formed a new commercial brokerage firm that will cover the Southeast market.
Jones, broker-in-charge at Twin City Commercial Brokerage in Greensboro, said he and Showfety have decided to dissolve Twin City by the end of the year and will regroup to form
.
The pair have moved into an 1,100-square-foot office at 819 N. Elm St., and one other Twin City broker, Matt Diachenko, will join them. The decision was made earlier this week.
The move comes a little more than three years after Jones and Showfety — who both worked for Weaver Grubar McAllister previously — formed Twin City Commercial Brokerage, which worked in retail, industrial, office and investment property markets.
Some of the principals in Greensboro development firm were also principals in Twin City, and the firms were housed in the same Spring Garden Street office. Jones and Showfety said the decision to split off from their Mega Builders principals was amicable. The decision also more than doubled Showfety’s and Jones’ ownership in Twin City, giving them more control and greater stakes in the profits, Jones said.
Twin City Commercial also represented Mega Builders for projects such as multi-phase in Winston-Salem, and the pair said they will continue to work with Mega Builders.
Emerson Commercial will handle traditional owner and leasing representation, as well as focus on acquiring a portfolio of investment properties, including multi-family developments. Showfety added that the firm will cover a wider territory — the entire Southeast.
He clarified that , which is in the same building as Mega Builders and is entirely separate from the commercial brokerage company, will remain open.
